Counselor Appointments with Students
Seniors seniors are encouraged to sign up for a 30 minute one-on-one counselor appointment, to discuss his/her specific post-secondary questions. Sign-up sheets are posted on the senior counselors’ doors. (Last names A-K will sign up with Mrs. Thompson, and L-Z will sign up with Mrs. Zelkin.)


College Applications
Please allow two days for Mrs. Zelkin or Mrs. Thompson to complete the counselor portion of the application, longer if a paragraph or recommendation letter is required. For letters of recommendation: first make sure that you need a recommendation. If one is needed, allow two to three weeks for a counselor, coach, teacher, administrator, employer, or community member to complete. The person writing the recommendation may request that you provide a resume, fill out additional paperwork, and/or meet with them prior to beginning the letter.


Naviance
If you have not already logged on to Naviance, please see your counselor!! Students are encouraged to utilize this tool to assist in the college application process. Also, beginning this year, LPHS students are REQUIRED to sign up for college representative visits at LP through Naviance. You will find the link to Naviance on the top bar of the LPHS website. Seniors wishing to better learn how to use Naviance are encouraged to sign up for Naviance information session during Advisory. Sign-ups are through Mrs. Sciacca in Student Services.

Transcripts: Please see the Registrar, Shelley Bladow, to request a transcript.  There is a $1 charge per transcript.

College Opportunity Fund (COF): Be sure to sign up for the COF at www.collegeincolorado.org

LP College Representative Visits: Be sure to check Naviance to see which college representatives are visiting LPHS.  You can sign up to attend a college representative visit through Naviance.

Scholarships: All local scholarship information is posted under Naviance. Be sure to check frequently to find the current scholarships available.  National scholarships are posted through various websites, such as www.fastweb.com  Also, be sure to check with the specific colleges you are applying to, to inquire about their scholarship opportunities.
